A Bespoke Chicken Coop

"Cluckingham Palace"!

This little beauty was built using scraps and reclaimed timber from a farm in West Sussex. The owner needed a strong, Fox proof and storm proof Chicken Coop that could be moved to different locations on the farm and would not get blown over in high winds. Above all, it had to have WOW factor and charm. The result speaks for itself we think. Built on a 12 foot car trailer with a fiberglass floor so it can be cleaned and hosed out. The main structure is used 4x2 and the outer walls were old posts from the fence that got replaced a few months before. The roof is Western Red Cedar and the door made out of old planks. The outside has four opening hatches to get the eggs that have been laid with 8 cubicles inside. This lovely creation is very much a one off but shows off our creativity. |
